TopScripture needed something simple, elegant and beautiful for their splash screen that would make it easy to install the right browser plugin. They also wanted to have a verse of the day. A quick search for verse of the day will show you some pretty ugly and hard to read stuff - which kind of defeats the point!
Using custom typefaces and good typography practices we think this feels much better than the alternatives.
The idea behind the TopScripture plugin is that people are busy. For those who spend time in God's Word 1st thing in the morning it's often hard to stay in that mindset as they go about their work, so TopScripture wanted to create a plugin that would slide down at certain intervals during the day (they get to set it) and remind them of what's important.
With that in mind we made the plugin simple and beautiful. Good typography, easy access to share and change your settings, and a close button to dismiss it when you're done.
Being beautiful and functional was a major goal of TopScripture so we made sure that the design worked on any screen size. The main graphics are optimized for retina displays, as well.
