Casillas Custom Furniture Website
Our first ever "backend only" job, Casillas let us flex our HTML/CSS and ExpressionEngine muscles, creating a great browsing experience for their amazing products and a backend that was easy to use.
We were contacted by the Mr. Clay Summers at Propaganda Creative while he was in the middle of a massive branding overhaul for Casillas and signed on to do the HTML/CSS and ExpressionEngine work for the site. That's right, we did very little design on this project. Instead we put all our attention to making sure it was rock solid inside and out while being drop dead easy to use. The beauty of a site like this is that while it looks fairly simple when you're using it, what's going on behind the scenes is pretty complex. From custom URL structures to integrated email and social bookmarking features to searchable tags to custom designed print pages for the products, this is one site you have to dig deep into to start to appreciate the work that went into it.
We worked hard to make sure the site was logically categorized and easy to navigate with breadcrumb trails and tags.
And did we mention that Casillas makes some of the most amazing furniture we've ever seen? It shows up in 4 and 5 star hotels and swanky casinos in Las Vegas and is completely customizable. Size, finish, upholstery, whatever. They'll make exactly what you want. This is one of those projects where I was so psyched by the actual product that I couldn't wait to get it up and live.
