We got a seemingly innocent request for work a few months back: A site full of great quotes from musicians; the backend architecture was already built, and we just needed to skin it with CSS. And the more I started talking to the guy who put it together, I realized it was Derek Sivers, the brains behind such amazing ventures as CD Baby and Host Baby. Pretty awesome! So this was a very interesting project because the site was multi-lingual and we had to combine a photographic based design with complete text editability. Not to mention accounting for changes in length of lines and reading right to left in languages like Arabic. But in the end it all came down to the "zen" and we think we captured that well. The site is a pleasure to explore, so go check it out already!
